Upper Tonka Little League

In our attempt to develop a more solid baseball program designed to enhance the overall fun, skills, & development at all levels of play, for the 2010 season, the UTLL board has made the decision to use professional/outside evaluators. An additional benefit of using professional evaluators, other than the non-biased / consistent approach to the entire evaluation process, is the individual strengths and weakness assessment each player will receive. Each player will be evaluated on the basic skills of throwing mechanics, infield mechanics, outfield mechanics, and hitting mechanics (over 35 individual elements). After teams have been formed, the assessment form will be passed on the their head coach, the head coach will use this form to review each player's strengths and weakness and develop a personalized "practice plan" to help that player in each area. The UTLL board, as an organization, will keep track of each players scores and development on a year-over-year basis. With this approach we can formulate a long-term plan for each individual player so they can reach the optimal skill level they desire.
